As the Basis for the Name

During the “Leader Projects”, which took place in 2020, the prison was set up as a museum and opened to the public. The museum’s name is based on that of the Plötzhaus (Haus = farmstead or farmyard), which in turn was named after the “Plötz” waterfall of the Baderbach brook.

The project was implemented together with the current owners, the Burgschwaiger family, Katharina Langmaier from the Tourism Association for the Fuschlsee Region, the Hof Tourism Office and the Hof parish near Salzburg, led by Mayor Thomas Ließ.

The name #ploetzhof links the place and the waterfall

Information panels were compiled in a collaboration between the Director of the Salzburg Education Institution for Hof, Nicole Heitzer, MA (Technical College), local historian Dr. phil. Martin Gschwandtner and the local history researcher Councillor Arno Müller. The panels are used to record the history of the Plötzhof, the Hof near Salzburg parish and the region as a whole and to present it to all interested parties in this exhibition.
